The Rowan Tree together with Ceilidh music by the North Cornwall Ceilidh Band
Late 2019 Celtic Congress Cornwall, supported by Urban Kelt and Association for Cornish Heritage organised a Ceilidh and an evening of music from the award winning group 'The Rowan Tree'. This premiered music from their new album Kolar's Gold as well as a visual talk about the project.
Music from the North Cornwall Ceilidh Band meant lots of people took part in their first ever Ceilidh. What a fantastic evening of music, dance and fun. Many now asking when the next one will take place. Watch this space.
Kickstarting the 2020 Newquay St Piran's Festival
Celtic Congress Cornwall and Association for Cornish Heritage organised the first event of the 2020 Newquay St Piran's Festival. The 'Morgannow' Cornish language singing event hosted by Newquay Rowing Club and sponsored by Celtic Congress Cornwall. Tir ha Tavas (Dave & Dee Brotherton) and Matt Blewett fronted a great evening of singing in the Cornish language.
There was also singing from local traditional singing groups Newquay Rowing Club Singers and Oll an Gwella culminating in a hearty rendition of 'Trelawny' in both English and Kernewek.
'Morgannow' is an outreach project set up by the Lowender Peran Celtic Festival and involves engaging people in singing in Cornish using sea shanties.

Celtic Congress Cornwall working with other Celtic supporting groups - St Piran's 2021
Celtic Congress Cornwall was pleased to again be involved with Newquay St Piran's Festival and support the evening Urban Kelt Music Sessions. This year it was a virtual event and participation in the Newquay St Piran's Festival resulted in five evenings of Cornish Celtic and Indie themed music being compiled by Urban Kelt, edited by and hosted through the Association for Cornish Heritage YouTube Channel. This reached many hundreds of viewers and helped show that Celtic Congress Cornwall are proactively promoting and sharing Celtic activities.
