Celebrating Douglas Pinder

Douglas Houzen Pinder [1886-1949]

One of Newquay's most popular artists from the early 20th century whose paintings are held by many long established Newquay families.

This exhibition commemorated the 70th anniversary of his death in 1949 and was an opportunity to share information and provide a range of his paintings to the general public in the early 21st century.

A small selection of Douglas Pinder's work is included here and over the coming years exhibitions will be held by Newquay Heritage Archive & Museum of his and other vintage work by Newquay's artists through the years from the mid 19th century.

A range of postcards are available at Newquay Heritage Archive & Museum of paintings by vintage and contemporary artists showing Newquay scenes. Packs of 6 postcards and greetings cards of Douglas Pinders work will be available from the spring of 2020 from Newquay Heritage Archive & Museum.
